Lifting Beyond Limits

It was a dark, foggy and windy July night. The sea was choppy, and we had four lifts scheduled that night (compressor, pallet, tool cage and generator) from the pier onto the deck of a ship called the Silver Moon. The lighting was poor on the pier. There were no floodlights, but the crew had head lamps. The Crane Operator had four years of experience with the company, but this was his first time doing such a heavy lift at night. He was feeling nervous, and it didn’t go well.
